Information Technology, these two words explains the age of high-tech era. You and I belong to these days of non-stop technology evolution. What is your feeling as part of this modern world? Do you think you are fortunate or unlucky? These questions may be answered in separate ways.
Fortunate, may be because present technology, helps you in your business and work. To complete your project in no time because technology indeed hasten and cuts the hassle of our works. Computer is the very good example to that, we can type, edit and erase right then and there until we are satisfied and eventualy print it as our hard copy. Oh! you oversee some text, the spelling are wrong or you forgot to put your name. No problem, you don't have to start from the scratch or erase it by liquid eraser that will degrade its professional appearance. All you need to do is go back to your saved files from your computer or if you saved it in any storage devices such as USB or Memory card and edit it, proofread it to make sure it's now error free and go, there you have it your perfect finish product.
On the other hand you may be felt Unlucky, for the reason that you are being annoyed of technology's siamese twin and that is its disadvantages. One example is, you make your report through computer, yes you made it before the deadline because computer technology helped you through. But on the day of your presentation something happen, you cannot open your file! Later on you realized. Why? There is only one culprit, THE VIRUS that infected your file. DISGUSTING right!
So, how to prevent this kind of situation so that we can really enjoy and take advantage this advance technology? The answer is we must have at least advance knowledge to be able to distinguish the viruses. Follow up question how to acquire it? It is through experience, meaning it's a "trial and error". Tough right! The other option is whenever you call a technician to reformat your PC or Laptop because it is infected by virus; after his job is done ask him/her the SOP's to keep your PC safe from viruses, malwares, spyware and rootkits. Thus, you will gain knowledge and lower your computer maintenace cost. I myself did it to my clients, I even give them 2-3 months warranty after I reformatted their PC's or Laptop's. I am glad that they don't call me with same problem for a couple of months and a year to some. I believe that every technician are more than willing to give advice as precautionary measures, to help our clients. After all it is our integrity and our name that we value most. Repeat customers is our goal however it must be ethical.
